About TypeMax
A free typing speed test by calculatormax.net
TypeMax is a free, no-signup-required online typing speed test built for students, professionals, and anyone who wants to improve their keyboard skills. We believe that measuring your typing speed should be simple, fast, and accessible to everyone.
What is TypeMax?
TypeMax is a web-based typing test that measures your typing speed in Words Per Minute (WPM) and your accuracy percentage. You can take the test in 30 seconds, 60 seconds, or 120 seconds, and switch between word mode and sentence mode.
Unlike other typing test tools that require you to create an account or download software, TypeMax works instantly in your browser — on desktop, tablet, or mobile.
How is WPM Calculated?
We calculate WPM using the standard method:
- Every 5 correctly typed characters count as one word
- We count only correctly typed words — not raw keystrokes
- WPM = (Correct Words ÷ Time in Minutes)
This gives you an honest, consistent measurement of your actual typing ability.
Why We Built TypeMax
TypeMax is part of the calculatormax.net family of free utility tools. Our mission is to build simple, fast, and genuinely useful web tools that anyone can use without barriers — no accounts, no paywalls, no downloads.
We noticed that most typing test sites were cluttered with ads, required logins, or had outdated designs that didn't work well on mobile. TypeMax was built to fix that.
Who is TypeMax For?
- Students — improve your typing speed for exams and assignments
- Professionals — prepare for job applications that test typing speed

Our Commitment
TypeMax will always be free. We support the site through non-intrusive advertising via Google AdSense. We do not sell your data, require registration, or use dark patterns. Your typing test results are stored only in your own browser's local storage.
